Beachwood is the piece of property that nearly bankrupted the city of Half Moon Bay. Chop Keenan won a 17 million dollar settlement against the city because they put in some drainage that turned it into a wet land which made it unable to be developed. When the lawsuit was in the papers every week, I saw an artist's rendition of the property which inspired me to go out and paint these two in plein air.
